Kool Koor

Born in New York in 1963, Kool Koor witnessed the birth of graffiti. At the age of 13, while observing a young girl tagging a wall in South Bronx from the window of his family's apartment, he decided to become a 'writer' and contribute to the development of this art form.

Having crossed paths with Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, Kool Koor delved into the world of graffiti at the tender age of 13, establishing himself as a key figure in the early days of street and subway tagging in New York.

Over three decades later, his work continues to evolve, in a constant search for new forms, both on walls and canvases.

With precision and elegance, Kool Koor's spontaneous writing unfolds its uniqueness and harmony. His mastery of aerosol, brush, and marker gives him complete freedom for improvisation and ensures great finesse in execution.

In his latest compositions, Kool Koor invites the viewer on a contemplative journey inside futuristic cities, imaginary landscapes, or dreamlike labyrinths. Elegant lines curve, merge, and transform, taking the viewer on an endless journey within architectural balance and the reflection of light.

His works are featured in the world's most prestigious museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of NYC, The Groninger Museum in the Netherlands, and the BAM in Belgium.
